Be Prepared

Rovers and Rangers of Don Bosco College, Maram, had their one day training programme on 23rd February at Don Bosco College ,Maram. The training was given by Fr. P.X.Francis the scout master from Imphal.

We began the training by  Rovers and rangers flag break .They were given brief history about the Rovers and Rangers and the requirement for  winning Rashtrapati  Rover award .They were given the technique in wood craft signals and rope knots mountain scouting etc.  The scout Master also encouraged the crew members to practice the Rovers and rangers law in their daily life. They are asked to prepare themselves for Pravesh badge.

Crew members learnt many things which are required to be a Rover or Ranger. The programme officer Sr. Bindu Thomas CCV was present with the team all through the training session and made things possible. The troup is getting ready to move ahead and win Rashtrapati Medal. Kudos to all the Rovers and Rangers of Don Bosco College, Maram.

Youth for God and Country

DBCMaram 26 Nov 2011: Don Bosco College, Maram became the first College in Manipur to introduce Rovers and Rangers in the College. The inauguration of yet another movement in the college was done by the Principal – Fr. Benny James SDB in the presence of Fr. PX Francis, the Director of Bosco Mangaal and Scout Training Master; Th. Heramani Singh, the State Secretary of Bharat Scout and Guide Movement in Imphal; P. Imocha Singh, the State Training Commissioner for Bharat Scouts and Guides Movement, Imphal.

While speaking to 74 Rovers and Rangers, the Principal reiterated the need for wholesome educative intervention in the life of young people. Fr. PX Francis, the Scout Master for the occasion emphasized the need for greater of personal commitment with oneself, with God and Country. It is to be noted that Manipur has got a number of patrols of scouts and guides in the schools. The aim of Scout Movement is to develop good citizenship among the boys and girls and youngmen and women by developing their character, health, handicrafts and skills and the spirit of service.

Peter Rang, the Rover Master in the college was content with the enthusiasm of the college students for the new initiative introduced in the college. The one day training programme gave the participants inclination for  further adventurous activities and training programmes.
