Don Bosco College offers various courses under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU – 1706). The college is a regular study centre of IGNOU. It was opened in the college in the Year 2001.The centre benefits students of the college as well as individuals from different parts of the state especially of Senapati District. IGNOU has installed a satellite communication (EDUSAT) in order to provide direct access to the study material, examination results and certificates from the centre in Delhi.

Under this study unit courses available are:
1. M.A. Political Science, Sociology, History and English
2. B.A. (BDP): Political Science, English, Sociology, History and Economics
3. B. Com
4. B.C.A.
5. BPP (+2) Bachelor's Preparatory Programme

At present there are 100 students enrolled for various courses. This centre has been able to help students gain extra certificate within their course of study in the college. One is able to earn double degree in 2 to 3 years time. It has also an opportunity for people engaged in various works, for government officials, social workers and individuals to credit in their work of life as well as for their personal intellectual up gradation. The centre is gaining its reputation and recognition as compared to the previous years as observed from the number of students in the enrollment list are increasing. It is aimed to provide opportunity for learners to excel in their career and give additional input to the person.

In order to facilitate the reference and the assignments, the students are provided with audio-visual CDs and library books from the study centre. Coaching classes for B.A. and other certificate courses are conducted in the afternoon.

IGNOU is one of the appropriate institutions to catr the new knowledge so as to enable the people to face reality in life and profit most from the accelerated development.
