Maram: 15 August: The NSS Units of I, II and III of Don Bosco College, Maram observed the 66 Interdependence Day of the country in a fitting manner on 15 August 12. Fr. Benny James SDB, the principal of the college presided over the function as the chief guest. About 210 volunteers from all the Units were present on the day with their respective Co-ordinators. The programme began with the hosting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest. In his speech he inspired the enthusiastic young minds of the volunteers and the teachers who were present by revealing the role of the farmers of the Nation and the development of agriculture. He also highlighted the job opportunities for the unemployed youths in the forthcoming 5 years through Skill Development of India. The volunteers staged a skit based on the theme ‘ freedom struggle’. In the later session of the day various innovative games and competitions were conducted by Fr. Benny James SDB, the chief guest of the day. The programme ended with a light refreshment.
